The PEVC is an intervention model that aims to renew intervention practices with children living in a context of domestic violence and their parents. It is mainly applicable in the context of youth protection and in monitoring by the youth directorate teams of the CISSS and CIUSSS.

The PEVC Institute is the result of a pilot project that began in 2019 thanks to funding from Women and Gender Equality Canada, as part of the program to combat gender-based violence. The objective of this project was to renew intervention practices in the context of domestic violence, particularly within youth protection services.

It is hoped that the PEVC model will have a regional scope. For this reason, different activities are planned so that all organizations working in the same region have the opportunity to develop a coherent understanding and a common language to address the problem of domestic violence.
