Intervention model

The PCDV is an intervention model that aims to renew intervention practices with children living in a context of domestic violence and their parents. It is mainly applicable in the context of youth protection and in monitoring by the youth directorate teams of the CISSS and CIUSSS.

History

The PCDV Institute is the result of a pilot project that began in 2019 thanks to funding from Women and Gender Equality Canada, as part of the strategy to prevent and address gender-based violence. The objective of this project was to renew intervention practices in the context of domestic violence, particularly within youth protection services.

Our Training

It is hoped that the PCDV model will have a regional scope. For this reason, different activities are planned so that all organizations working in the same region have the opportunity to develop a coherent understanding and a common language to address the problem of domestic violence.

Domestic Violence Training

The PCDV model is being implemented in CISSSs and CIUSSSs via specific four-day training focused on the practice of youth protection workers and youth directorates. Subsequently, communities of practice are set up to promote the integration of the model into practice. Other options are available for different partners.
