Training objectives

  • Developing an understanding of domestic violence that is not limited to violent incidents
  • Recognizing the consequences of domestic violence on children and on family functioning
  • Analyze parenting skills in the context of domestic violence
  • Develop practices that enable:
    • Encourage child participation
    • Working in alliance with the victimized parent
    • Promote an approach of accountability for the abusive parent
  • Incorporate methods of assessment, analysis, writing, and recommendations that describe and take into account the context of domestic violence and its consequences on the family system

Duration

26 hours of training, spread over four consecutive days.

The PEVC training for lawyers teaches the legal application of the model in the context of youth protection in the face of domestic violence.
